Rural Maryland Outlook

Rural Maryland Outlook is an interactive dashboard designed to showcase key demographics and indicators for each of the state’s 18 designated rural communities as well as the six rural regions for the purpose of communicating to law makers and policy makers how rural regions of Maryland are doing individually and collectively both currently and overtime.

The ESRGC utilized data from Census, MDP, BRFSS, CDC, MHCC, MD Board of Physicians, FCC, and MSDE to populate 17 topics including demographics, income, health and well-being, education, and broadband access. The dashboard was built with Microsoft Power Bi with data stored as excel files. A link to the dashboard is on the RMC homepage.
